The subject of my mermaid painting specified that her favorite color is pink, so I made her mermaid tail pink. That is the wonderful thing about a custom painting: the details can be worked out to incorporate your child's favorite things, such as a favorite outfit, or a favorite stuffed animal they want to accompany them in their fairytale world. You specify the details, and then I will paint it!
As I did with this painting, I will need to work from a photograph. You can either send me a very high-res photo of your child or mail me a real photograph to reference. It will need to be in a similar pose to what you desire in the painting (Is your little princess looking out a window? Do you want to see her profile, or her face at an angle?), and with enough facial detail to make sure the painting resembles your child as closely as possible. If you want a particular detail added, you can include a photo of that as well.
This painting was done using a combination of watercolor and chalk pastel.
